Carolin Hirsch

Carolin Hirsch is a doctoral candidate at the research group Social and Political Anthropology. She did her Bachelors degree at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in Sociology and German philology (B.A.). She got her Masters degree at the University of Konstanz Sociology (M.A.). Her master thesis "Akteure an der Tonne - Dumpster Diving als politischer Aktivismus"  was about the phenomenon of Dumpster Diving. She investigated under which circumstances Dumpster Diving is turning into political activism.

Her Phd project "Activist becomings in contemporary Myanmar" is dealing with upcoming activism in southeastasian Myanmar, through which actors seek to transform their own social realities and shape political infrastructures. Her Phd project seeks to understand the single processes through which activism is integrated into the everyday lifes of the actors and also to recognize the collective aspirations, through which the activists try to influence the political infrastructures of their social realities.
