Nicolas Binder is doing his doctorate at the Department of Politics and Public Administration on the topic of populism in Western democracies. He is specifically investigating the connection between the economy and populism. As part of his doctorate, Binder is receiving a doctoral scholarship from the University of Konstanz in accordance with the Landesgraduiertenförderungsgesetz (LGFG). In 2018, he successfully completed his Master's degree in Political and Administrative Science (M.A.). He had previously completed a Bachelor's degree in the same subject area (B.A.) at the University of Konstanz and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Financial Economics (B.Sc.) in 2013.

Research interests

Nicolas Binders research interests concern the interfaces between politics, economics and sociology. The focus of his doctorate is on populism research. Quantitative methods are another focus, so Nicolas Binders research is strongly empirical.
