Im Zentrum der Forschungs- und Lehraktivitäten des Arbeitsbereichs Soziologie mit Schwerpunkt Gender Studies stehen folgende Themengebiete: Geschlechterungleichheiten auf dem Arbeitsmarkt und im Bildungssystem, ländervergleichende Analysen der Arbeitsteilung von Paaren im Hinblick auf Erwerbsarbeit sowie unbezahlte Tätigkeiten, wie Pflegeaufgaben oder ehrenamtliches Engagement.
