Research Group on Higher Education
The Research Group on Higher Education (AG Hochschulforschung) at the University of Konstanz is in existence since 1981. It is part of the Department of History and Social Sciences at the School of Humanities.
Since 1982, the focus of the Research Group has been primarily on the Student Survey that was conducted on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research for the thirteenth time during the WS 2015/2016. The focus of the Research Group’s empirical investigation is the study situation, the students’ experiences and orientation at their institutions. Additional projects address employment and study, evaluation of teaching, and the development of the European Higher Education Area.
Since 2007, the Research Group on Higher Education makes available an annual Study Quality Monitor in cooperation with the German Centre for Research on Higher Education and Science Studies (Deutsches Zentrum für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung - DZHW) . The monitor relies on a fully developed and proven system for determining the quality of studies and the evaluation of teaching.
The Research Group benefits from a broad-based international cooperation. One of its many responsibilities is moderating the ”Reseau Uni 21” within the framework of the Fondation des Régions Européennes pour la Recherche en Éducation et Formation (FREREF).
