Jeannine-Madeleine Fischer ist seit 01.10.2020 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in der AG Kirsch, sie hat 2019 an der Ludwig-Maxmilians-Universität München zum Thema „Urbane Ethiken und Umweltschutz. Ideale, Praktiken und Aushandlungen um die gute Stadt in Auckland, Aotearoa Neuseeland“ promoviert. Sie forscht an der Universität Konstanz im Rahmen des NOMIS-Projektes „Traveling Forms“ über transnationale Diffusionen ästhetischer und ethischer Formen des Protestes in Durban, Südafrika.
Zu ihren Interessenschwerpunkten zählen Mensch-Umwelt-Beziehungen, Schnittstellen zwischen medizinischer und Umweltethnologie, Aktivismus, Ästhetik, Kreativität und Körperperformationen, Verflechtungen von Ethik und Politik sowie Stadtforschung und psychologische Anthropologie. Methodisch interessiert sie sich für innovative Formen der ethnologischen Feldforschung, insbesondere im Sinne einer multisensorischen Ethnographie.
Ihre Regionalgebiete sind Aotearoa Neuseeland und Südafrika.
